Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for playing Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received the Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her performance in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was born as the only girl of her mother who was a homemaker and an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child with her four brothers. As a child she longed to be a court reporter. But after she graduated from high school, and moving to New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teen in the film All My Children. Delaney is a well-known actress who has been involved in numerous TV movies, and dramas. Contrary to her successful professional life, Delaney's private life isn't as content and successful. The talented actor has been battling alcoholism and she has experienced two failed marriages. In 2005, she lost custody of the only child she was born with.
