Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real name Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. The EP was where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music to the internet in 2012 when she released five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to post her music online as well as her own single Bound. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to collaborate together with Rihanna. It was announced on the 8th of December that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a song that she co-wrote with Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas the label's co-founders. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. On November 9 she released two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. She then released on the 13th of November two singles called No One and Pedigree. They then teamed up as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26, 2019 for her debut album of the same name. In February, her music video to this track debuted. The track has garnered over three million YouTube views in just one week. As a supporting act she performed in concert with 6LACK in December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
